ABOUT US

The Institut Européen de Chimie et Biologie (IECB) is an international and interdisciplinary research team incubator. We use cutting edge techniques and technologies to investigate complex phenomena at the interface between chemistry and biology.

The Institute is supported by a service Unit (UMS IECB 3033/US001), jointly supported by the CNRS, Inserm and University of Bordeaux, to provide technical  and administrative staff as well as several cutting edge technical platforms in biophysical-chemistry.

MISSIONS

We provide a cutting edge environment to junior and senior research teams to carry out their projects at the interface between chemistry and biology. Research groups are hosted for a duration of 6-8 years in the IECB building, while affiliated to one of our institutional partners (CNRS, Inserm, University of Bordeaux). We have a dedicated research support unit (UMS IECB 3033 / US001) which brings together services in administration, infrastructure and informatics. Several technological platforms including large equipments in X-ray diffraction, masse spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy and electron microscopy are hosted in the building and accessible to IECB researchers.

LEADERSHIP

IECB is coordinated by a Board of Directors. An external Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) contributes to the recruitment process.
